Things to do and places to see in Sheringham

Situated on the North Norfolk coast Sheringham truly is a beautiful and attractive town suitable for all the family to enjoy.

The town boasts numerous attractions and is a wonderful environment for any age! 

Whether you choose to relax on the European Blue Flag beach (guaranteeing excellent water quality) with it's life guards for safe swimming, take a ride on the famous North Norfolk Steam Railway, or enjoy the fantastic mixture of Victorian and Edwardian architecture you are certain to enjoy what is the perfect place for any family holiday.

North Norfolk Steam Railway

The North Norfolk Steam Railway, which features in many period films, will take you on a picturesque and unforgettable ride to the Georgian town of Holt finishing the last mile of the Journey on a horse drawn cart or a walk along the breathtaking coastal path to Weybourne and beyond.

Little Theatre

In the evening why not visit the refurbished Little Theatre which offers plays, films, exhibitions and children's shows, comedy, music and a wonderful summer repertory season or you could always visit the sea front inns overlooking the North Sea for a meal or just drop in for a casual drink.

Sheringham has something for everyone and all of the above is no more that a few minutes walk from Sheringham Cottages located in Augusta Street, St Nicholas Place and Montague Road. Once you have parked on the street outside you can forget the car as you relax in our superbly situated holiday homes.

Why not leave the car behind and visit us by train, we will be delighted to collect you from the train station (no extra charge) after your gentle relaxing journey through the beautiful Norfolk countryside from Norwich. Sheringham is on the 30 mile long 'Bittern Line' giving easy access to other local coastal town of Cromer as well as providing a direct and regular link to the 'fine city' of Norwich. The line has been described as "One of the most picturesque lines in the country".

Muckleburgh Collection - Weybourne                                                                                              

Just a few miles west is the Muckleburgh Collection the UK's largest privately owned military museum. The Collection has over 120 tanks, guns and vehicles in addition to thousands of other items. The vehicles on display have come from far and wide; Russia, Norway, Italy, Czechoslovakia, Belgium, Holland, Eire, Syria, Kuwait, Israel, the Falkland Islands, the United States and Iraq. Most of The Collection's vehicles have undergone restoration to ensure they are kept in working order.

There is a Restaurant and Shop and visitors have the opportunity of seeing a tank demonstration and of enjoying a bumpy coastal ride in an American Gama Goat personnel carrier.A children’s play area and picnic site give all members of the family an exciting day out.
